We took a taxi (RM26.00) from the Kuching International airport to the Hilton Hotel. The Hilton hotel was facing the Sarawak river. The scenery was beautiful. We checked in the King Executive Plus room. The room we stayed in was spacious. There was a King size bed and a lounge sofa set. There were some eating outlets along the side walk of the river. The stalls were closed in the day and only opened at night. We had light supper before going to bed.

We walked to Jalan Abell to look for the Chong Choon cafe. We had the popular Poh Lam Laksa and the Sarawak kolo mee 干捞腼. We then shopped around Jalan Padungan. There were furniture shops, vehicle spare parts shops, Chinese medical shops, eating shops, sundry shops, bakery shops etc. We back tracked to the Hill Shopping Mall and had lunch at the OldTown White Coffee. I guessed this could be another outlet belonging to Singapore Media Corp artist Mark Lee (李国蝗). We went back to the hotel for a short rest and then went to the hotel gym to do some work out. We had our dinner at the popular Top Spot food court. This food court is famous for sea food. It only opened in the evening. It is a popular food outlet not only for the locals but it is also for the tourists. We had seam grouper fish, butter prawns and samba midin vegetable for RM70. We can't enjoy this pricing back home. After dinner we went to the Parkson departmental stall, that was within short walking distance from our hotel, for an evening shopping.

We walked to Lebuh Carpenter for lunch. We had Niang Dou Fu 酿豆腐 and Satay, We continued our shopping at the Plaza Merdeka. All of us managed to get our bargain hunting. We had the popular China Town Aladin chicken rice for dinner. We were considered lucky to find a table because it was a Wednesday. I was told it will be very difficult to get a table if it is on week ends. I also noticed that the shops at China Town close early around 6.00 pm.
