My Water Way @ Punggol 2 - 榜鹅水道二

The Straits Time is organising a run at the Punggol waterway on 25 August 2013. The Straits Times run in the park promises participants an invigorating trail through the Punggol Waterway park connector , which is part of the North- eastern riverine loop. The loop goes round one of the most scenic places in Singapore. The Straits Times is partnering the National Parks Board (NPark), which is celebrating 50 Years of Greeting Singapore, for this event.
The Straits Times Run In The Park 2013 has 3 categories. The 5 km fun run, the 10km & 15km competition run. The registration fees are $46 and $55 per person respectively. ($42 & $ 50 per person for group of 4 and above). The goodies bag value from the event sponsors has far exceeded the registration fee.
UOB used to organise the annual Heart Beat run / walk at the Marina . Traditionally, the Start/Finish point was at UOB Plaza. For the year 2013 Heart Beat event, UOB has changed usual Marina route to a new location at the Punggol Water Way. It appears that more and more event organisers for the mass run have now diverted their attention to the Punggol Water Way for its scenic route.
I had stopped cycling at Punggol Water Way for quite a while due to wet weathers, personal commitments and physical illness - I was suffering from trigger finger illness recently.
The term trigger finger is used because when the finger unlocks, it pops back suddenly as if releasing a trigger on a gun. The disorder finger locking the tendon associated with the dysfunction and pain. Treatment is by way of injection of the tendon sheath with steroid. If injection fails, a simple surgical procedure can rectify the problem. The surgeon will cut the sheath that is restricting the tendon. I had my left hand 2nd last trigger finger surgery done in 2007 and coincidentally my right hand 2nd last finger was suffering from trigger finger illness 5 years later. The sugery of the right hand finger was done in August 2012.
Now that my trigger finger surgery had fully recovered,  I can go back to my regular sports activity( cycling at the  Punggol Water Way, tennis game and swimming). After laying off for so long, my bicycle required some minor maintenance job before I can ride on it.

- lubricate the moving parts and the lock
